Beach Crafts

There are lots of fun crafts that you can do at the beach or with things from the beach if you are interested in them. Many of them can make your home a lot more beautiful and make your time at the beach much more enjoyable as well. All it takes is a little imagination and some crafty skills.

When you’re at the beach one of the most obvious crafts is building sand castles. This can be a lot of fun especially if you bring some helpful items with you in advance. For the best time building sand castles you’ll want to bring some buckets, some shovels, and any other fun items that you want to include in your castles. Shovels make the process a lot easier than using your hands and buckets help you form towers and various structures within your castle. Once you’re done make sure you take pictures so that you can show everyone.

When it comes to beach crafts there are lots of things you do after you’ve left the beach and gone home or before you even get there. Making personalized towels is always really fun and can be a special way that everyone remembers to bring their own towel and knows whose is whose. All you really need to do is get some plain towels (white or any other color you choose) and some craft paint, and whatever else you might want on your towel. You probably don’t want to decorate both sides of it because this can make it hard to dry off and you don’t want to put any buttons or beads on it which can hurt. Too much paint can also make your towel lose it’s absorbency. Lots of time just decorating your name on a corner of your towel is enough to make it fun and interesting.  You may also want to consider tye-dying your towel which can make it really colorful without losing any of its softness or drying capabilities. Tie dye is a great look for the beach too and no one will look the same as you. You can also use these same methods to spice up a boring swimsuit if need be. The same goes for straw hats, hand made beach bags, beach balls and so on. There is no shortage of things you can decorate to keep it fun and interesting when you’re at the beach. Turn a few of your boring beach accessories into something fun and unique.

When you’re at the beach keep an eye out for souvenirs you can take home to be crafty with. Seashells and sand dollars, when cleaned off a bit can make beautiful centerpieces in baskets or bowls, small little display pieces on bookshelves, and can also be beautifully framed for a beach feel all year round. You can also make beautiful pieces with sand and stones in colorful jars around your home that will at to the feel of being out by the ocean all year round.
