Animal Crafts
Crafts that involve animals are often the most fun of all because animals are always great and receptive and the ways you can involve them in your crafts are almost endless. Most animals wont be able to participate in your crafts with you but that doesn't’ mean they have to be entirely excluded from the fun. In fact there are lots of fun crafts that revolve around pets or other animals and can be very rewarding for both children and adults.
One of the most obvious and basic crafts for animals is making a bird house for local birds in your neighborhood. Birds are beautiful and fun to watch and homes for them are fairly simple to build. You can buy many bird house kits at outdoorsy type stores or you can spend a little bit more effort and make one on your own. This can be as simple as using some popsicle sticks or as complicated as designing your own plans and cutting wood for it. Whatever you decide to do just make sure it’s safe for the birds and that predators can’t get into it. It’s also fun to paint the outside of your birdhouse and make it appealing and attractive to birds that might want to make a home of it. There are other crafts for birds as well but a popular one is making a little feeder for them. All it takes is a pine cone, some birdseed, and some peanut butter. Find a nice round pine cone that doesn’t have any sharp edges on it and spread peanut butter all over the surface of it. Once you’ve done that take your pine cone and roll it in the bird seed so that it is coated on all the different surfaces of it. Then all you have to do is hang it from a tree or a branch somewhere that you can see it and let your bird friends come and feed off of it.
Birds aren’t the only animals you can do crafts for though. There are plenty of other options as well. One fun ting to do is to make homemade pet toys for your cat or your dog. They aren’t hard to make and all they require is some fabric, string, buttons and a little patience. It’s a lot of fun to make toys for your pet dog or cat in different shapes and sizes for them to play with and you can sew whatever you like into them. It’s also less expensive and you don’t have to worry if there are any strange chemicals or things your dog or at shouldn’t b exposed to on their toys. Plus they’re easy to wash as you can just throw them into the washer and let it go. You can also make little hidden pouches for treats or yummy smells to go into the toys so that your dog or cat will like them even more. You can also make handmade leashes, collars, pillows, blankets, beds, and much more for your dog or cat if you just spend the time to get creative.
Put some extra effort in and get crafty with pets and animals and have a lot of fun doing it!
